Chemsain was one of the winners at the Malaysian Trade and Industry Recognition Awards 2008. Chemsain won The Malaysian Achievers Award and this was presented by the Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister’s Department, YB Dato’ S.K. Devamany, at a dinner function held at the Grand Seasons Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 29 January 2009.

The Malaysian Trade and Industry Organisation (MTI) annually organises the MTI Recognition Award to give recognition to companies for excellence in various fields. This award will be to motivate and encourage Malaysian Companies to make every effort to achieve excellence in their products and services as well as to promote creativity and innovation in the industry. This year's awards saw more than 30 Malaysian companies taking back awards under 17 categories.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, YB Dato’ S. K. Devamany, who officiated the event, called on more local companies to inculcate excellence in management. It is hoped that in future years, more companies will come forward to participate so that Malaysia can showcase as many successful companies as possible which have achieved excellence in performance. "The MTI Recognition Awards will continue to recognise and promote successful companies which are capable of sustaining and competing in the challenging business environment. These companies in turn, will project the image of Malaysian companies as producers of quality products and services," he said.

Representatives from Chemsain at the Dinner function were our Director, Dr. John Chan, and Edward Yap & Sam Curtis (both from SJ office).
